Hello readers! Today I will be reviewing sunscreen or sunblock product in my blog. Here's a short information on sunscreen and sunblock and what are the differences between these two. Sunblocks are formulated to shield against UVB rays, while sunscreens protect against UVA. In order to fully protect your skin, choose a broad-spectrum protection formulated sunscreen that will protect against both UVA and UVB rays. Fortunately these days, formulas often contain a mixture of both sunblock and sunscreen.
I was introduced to a sunscreen from Korean brand, Vella Cosmetics - Vella Cosmetics Ultra Hydro Sun Essence which I got it from Althea. What is the difference between sunscreen / sunblock and sun essence? They are essentially the same thing except that sun essence is more watery and runny so it's easier to absorb for oily for combination oily and dry skin.

Vella Cosmetics Ultra Hydro Sun Essence contains SPF 50+ / PA+++ . The amount of protection offered by sunscreens is measured in Sun Protection Factor (SPF) units. The SPF level of a particular product indicates how long a person can remain in the sun without becoming burned. For example if you use a product with an SPF of 20, you may stay in the sun 20 times longer than if you did not use any sunscreen. The higher the SPF level, the greater the protection from UV radiation.
PA indicates the level of protection from UVA rays. PA means Protection Grade of UVA rays which is used to measure the SPF of a sunscreen. This ranking is based on the Persistent Pigment Darkening (PPD) reaction reading at 2 - 4 hours of sun exposure. The protective grade of sunscreen is often leveled as PA+, PA++, PA+++ with the more plus sign the more protection from UVA rays. PA+++ is designed for normal skin that expose to very strong UV radiation. It provides good UVA protection and it is the highest grade of UVA protection currently available.
