Favourites: June 2014

Sorry for being a little late with my June Favourites, but I've been travelling a bit the last few weeks and simply didn't have time to sit down and make a post until now. I've been on two shorter trips to Copenhagen and Berlin, plus one of our cabins here in Norway. I've bought quite a few beauty bits lately and will have some really exciting products to review for you! But that's in the future, now for the past and what I've been loving for the month of June!

First up is the stunning Tom Ford Bronzing Powder in 02 Terra ( here ). I apply this with the Real Techniques Blush Brush on my cheeks, sides of my forehead, nose and neck and it gives the most beautiful natural tanned glow. It's an absolute stunner and I've made quite a dent in this. I think it's time to declare this my all-time favourite bronzer!

I usually whip out Chanel's Holiday polish for the summer months, and I have used it, but this year there's a serious contender for my go-to summer polish. Deborah Lippmann's 'Lara's Theme' ( here ) isn't just a better formula, in my opinion, but the colour is down right fabulous. It looks like just another orange in the bottle, but on the nails it looks like a beautiful vintage red with a lot of orange to it. I've worn it to the beach, to work and to cocktail parties. It looks perfect for any occasion!

I've always been a huge fan of Guerlain's Terracotta skin care line that they bring out every summer. When I heard they were finally releasing a perfume with the scent they put in all their Terracotta summer products, the Terracotta Le Parfum ( here ), I knew this was something I had to have. I love tiare scents during summer, and this smells beautifully of the beach, but it's more sophisticated than your "average" suntan lotion perfume. This is sold out almost everywhere, but I did manage to still locate a few at Escentual.com.

Another favourite from the Terracotta line, and one I loved last summer as well, is the Sunless Tinted Self Tanner ( here ). I've already gone through a bottle of this and am onto the next one. This tinted self-tanner is infused with argan oil so it doesn't dry out your skin. It's got the famous Terracotta scent, though I do smell of biscuits come morning ( I apply self-tanner in the evening and sleep with it on). The tan is beautiful and always absolutely natural. I apply it with a mitt and it lasts for 3-4 days. I wish it would stay longer, which is my only gripe with the product, as everything else is pretty much perfect.

Another self-tanner product I've been loving this month is the Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster ( review - here ). I mix this in with my non-spf moisturiser, currently the REN Vita Mineral Daily Supplement Moisturising Cream. When self-tanning I find the tan lasts a lot shorter on my face than my body, so using this every morning helps keep everything even.

Another surprising love for June has been the YSL Rouge Volupté in 01 Nude Beige ( here ). I say surprising only because I usually am all over my bright lipsticks during the summer, but I've loved a light nude pink lip. I love pairing this with a slightly smoky eye, a strong brow, lots of mascara and bronzed glowing skin.

Lastly is a limited edition product from Chanel's summer collection - the Illusion D'Ombre in 97 New Moon ( here ). I wasn't going to pick this up, and as the collection seemingly never got released here I was kind of over it when it did arrive at the stores. Still, after swatching it I knew I had to have it and I'm so so glad I did decide to get it. I've used it everyday for the last two weeks and I think it's one of my all-time favourite products already. I'm even considering a backup!
